Rock 366 : Day 16 : Deformed Trilobites

Rock 366 : Day 15 : Interference Folds

Day 15 : I can’t believe this boulder that I carried two kilometres down the shore of of Loch Leven in Scotland back to the car didn’t make it into Rock365. So, for Rock366 here are interference folds in the Neoprotoerozoic Eilde Quartzite. Personal collection.

Rock 366 : Day 7 : Folded Phyllite

Day 7 : Alternating sand and mud layers in a phyllite from the Late Devonian Tredern Shale Fm. of Tintagel, Cornwall. The sandy layers develop more rounded fold profiles where as mud dominated parts show more angular folding. The cleavage development is quite variable. Keele Collection.
