Day 121 : Back at home and learning to use a mac and aperture software. This is cuprite and malacite from Chillagoe, Queensland, Australia. From the Cotton Collection, Keele.
Day 120 : The last day of the Pembrokeshire field course and sedimentary logging at Amroth. Here we have a cobble of a conglomerate with clasts of eroded siderite nodules. In the background is a siltstone with numerous freshwater bivalves.
Day 119 : Second visit to Marloes Sands in Pembrokeshire this week and this is an ignimbrite from the Llandovery age Skomer Volcanic Group.
Day 118 : Fourth day of the Pembrokeshire field course. I took some time out at the end of the day to scout for a new outcrop to visit in future years. This is the Ridgeway Conglomerate, Lower Devonian (Pragian) in age.

Day 116: Second day of the Pembrokeshire field course and a visit to a slightly misty Broadhaven to see a wonderful example of a fault propagation fold.
Day 115: Today’s fieldcourse took us to Freshwater West. The image shows normal faults that have been rotated by later folding to make them now look like thrusts. The rocks are lower Devonian sandstones, siltstones and caliches.
Day 114: In the field this week in Pembrokeshire with our first year students. Managed to take a quick photo on the Carboniferous Limestone on the way in to Tenby.
