Day 292 : Markfieldite is an obsolete name for a microdiorite, from the Late Precambrian (approximately 600 Ma) near Markfield in Leicestershire. This sample is from just to the east, from near Groby, England. Keele collection.

Day 291 : Porphyritic pitchstone from a Palaeogene dyke on Caisteal Abhail, Skye, Scotland. Keele collection.

Day 290 : In Southwark, London.  These are flints from the Cretaceous Chalk that have been split and used to face Southwark Cathedral.
