Day 164 : Last day in the field in Cumbria, England. This is the ridge on Kirkland Fell, below Cross Fell, produced by the more resistant Whin Sill. The Southern Uplands of Scotland are just visible on the horizon.
Day 163 : In the field on Wildboar Scar on the side of Cross Fell, Cumbria. Not much exposure here but a subtle fold is evident.
Day 162 : More fieldwork. Porphyritic andesite at the confluence of Short Grain, Long Grain and Hay Gill, Caldbeck Fells, Cumbria, England. Part of the Caradocian Eycott Volcanics of the Lake District Arc.
Day 161 : More Lake District field work. Here a quartz-rich mineral vein in the roof of the entrance to an old mine in Brandy Gill. Host rock is a microgabbro of the Carrock Fell Complex. Cumbria, England.
