Day 126 : In the field at Llangollen, Denbighshire, Wales. This is the Carboniferous (Visean) Cefn Mawr Limestone Formation with a gigantoproductus shell amongst other fossils.

Day 125 : Galena (lead ore) from the Carboniferous Limestone (Bee Low Limestone Formation) of Tunstead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire, England.  Keele collection.

Day 124 : Devonian limestone (probably the East Ogwell Limestone Formation) from Kingsteinton, Devon, England. Keele collection

Day 123 : Clod Coal from the Coalbrookdale coal field, mined from the Granville Colliery a few days before its final closure in July 1979.  It was this low sulphur coal that Abraham Darby used to smelt iron, starting the ‘Industrial Revolution’.  Keele collection.
