Day 136 : The ‘Whit-Bed’ of the Jurassic (Tithonian) Portland Limestone from the Broadcroft Quarry, Isle of Portland, Dorset, England. Keele collection.

Day 135 : Down in London for the day so a quick (blurry) shot with the new iPad. This is the rapakivi granite frontage on the Cock Tavern, Great Portland Street.

Day 134 : Last day in the field at Llangollen, Denbighshire, Wales.  Strike-slip fault zone in the Asbian age Loggerheads Limestone Formation with slickenside lineations and vein calcite.

Day 133 : In the field at Llangollen, Denbighshire, Wales. Here is the top of one of the upperward shallowing cycles with emergence, and bentonitic ash palaeosol development, followed by deepening and the next limestone cycle.

Day 130 : The Corallian, or more properly the Coralline Oolite Formation of the Jurassic (Oxfordian) from East Ayton, Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. Keele collection.

Day 129 : The Great Oolite or more formally the Jurassic (Bathonian) Chalfield Oolite Formation. Keele collection. 

Day 128 : Kerridge Rock or Macclesfield Stone, more formally known as the Upper Carboniferous (Westphalian) Milnrow Sandstone. from Kerridge, Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. Keele Collection.

Day 127 : In the field again in Llangollen, Denbighshire, Wales. Here we have the Visean Minera Formation with tafoni picking out more carbonate-cemented cross-bedding that has been slump folded.
