Day 282 : Back at my family home for the weekend so this is from my childhood collection.  This is a jasper pebble, probably from a beach in North Wales.

Day 281 : A flinty rhyolite from the Ogwen Falls, Nant Francon, North Wales. Keele collection.

Day 280 : A porphyritic felsite from a dyke margin, Dartmoor, Devon, England. Keele collection.

Day 279 : A vitreous lava showing flow structure from the Crater of Castagna, Lipari, Italy. Keele collection.

Day 278 : A quartz porphyry from Withiel, Cornwall, England.  Keele collection.

Day 277 : A quartz feldspar porphyry from Betws Garmon, Caernarfonshire, Wales. Keele collection.

Day 276 : A Palaeogene spherulitic felsite from Corriegills, Isle of Arran, Scotland. Keele collection.

Day 275 : A rhyolite from Ballycloughan, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.  Keele collection. (Ballycloughan is hard to track down but would appear to be near Quarrytown, Ballymena).

Day 274 : Elvan is a Cornish term for quartz porphyry.  This is from the Isles of Scilly.  Keele collection.

Day 273 : A garnet bearing rhyolite from the Lake District, England. Probably the Stockdale Rhyolite, part of the Yarlside Volcanic Fm., Stockdale, Kendal. Keele collection.
